Privacy Policy

Bloop sorts screenshots into useful categories and helps turn the text inside them into suggested actions, including calendar events, reminders, links, notes, and email drafts.

Bloop processes screenshot images and extracted text on your device. Local rules create built-in categories, summaries, and suggested actions. The app does not send screenshot content to Bloop, an AI provider, or an analysis server. The Bloop website separately uses optional, consent-based analytics described below.

Information Bloop Processes

• Screenshots from your photo library on your device.
• Text extracted from screenshots using on-device OCR.
• Lightweight metadata such as built-in category names, capture date, timezone, language preference, and app-generated item identifiers stored locally.
• An optional profile name you enter to improve action suggestions.
• App settings, categories, notes, actions, and processing status stored locally on your device.
• Calendar destination preference when you choose a writable iOS calendar for event actions.
• A device-local trial start date and locally cached StoreKit subscription status used to unlock processing.

Screenshot Images

Bloop does not upload screenshot image files. Images are used locally for preview, thumbnail generation, and text recognition.

Extracted Text And Local Processing

When you choose screenshots and start a scan, Bloop extracts text with Apple's on-device text-recognition framework. It then applies deterministic local rules to create a summary, choose built-in categories, and suggest actions. Extracted text may include personal information if that information appears in the screenshot, but it remains on your device.

Service Providers

Bloop relies on Apple device frameworks for Photos, on-device text recognition, Calendar, Reminders, notifications, and StoreKit purchases. Apple processes subscription transactions under Apple's terms. StoreKit does not receive screenshot images or extracted text from Bloop. The public website may use Cloudflare for hosting and optional Google Analytics when you consent. These website services do not receive screenshot content from the app.

Bloop does not sell screenshot text, use it for advertising, or send it to AI providers.

Tracking, Advertising, And Sales

Bloop does not sell your personal data. Bloop does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking in the launch version. Bloop does not include a third-party analytics SDK in the launch build.

The Bloop website offers optional Google Analytics 4 measurement. If you accept analytics, the website may measure page views, visits, referring pages, approximate location, browser and device information, and clicks on links to Bloop's App Store page. Google Analytics may store a first-party _ga cookie to distinguish visits. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled.

The Google Analytics script does not load when you decline. Your analytics preference is stored in your browser so the website can remember it. You can change that preference below.

Security And Safety

Bloop limits screenshot processing to your device and does not require an analysis-server connection. Device protections, iOS permissions, and your passcode protect locally stored data.

OCR text, local categories, summaries, reminders, and calendar suggestions may be incomplete or incorrect. Check and edit important details before relying on them, especially when screenshots involve money, health, legal issues, travel, addresses, links, dates, or private messages.

Data Retention

Data stored in Bloop on your device remains there until you delete it, clear it from Bloop, or delete the app. Bloop does not retain screenshot content on a server.

Permissions

• Photos: find screenshots, generate local thumbnails, and extract text.
• Camera: scan text in front of you.
• Calendar: add events when you tap an event action and optionally choose which writable iOS calendar receives new events. Google calendars can be used if they are added to iOS Calendar.
• Reminders: create reminders when you tap a reminder action.
• Notifications: processing-complete alerts and opt-in reminders.
• Photo Library Add: save full-quality camera captures when you choose to keep the original.

Your Choices

• Decline optional permissions.
• Choose exactly when to scan screenshots and turn check-in reminders on or off in Settings.
• Choose the calendar destination for event actions, or use the default iOS calendar.
• Manage or cancel an auto-renewing subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• Clear local Bloop sort results from your device.
• Delete screenshots from Photos when you choose that option.
• Delete the app to remove local Bloop data from your device.
• Accept, decline, or change optional Bloop website analytics.

Children

Bloop is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
